The mission of the Roundtable is to create business relationships between photonics SMEs who are leaders in sensor innovations and technology integrators who are seeking specific capabilities and performance for energy, environment and security systems. The Roundtable accelerates the presence in the market of key competitive technologies in energy, environment and security applications.
SMEs developing sensor technologies for detection of pollutants, explosives, drug and food security, LIDARs and range finders and similar applications are invited to apply for a place in this meeting. The most promising applications will be selected for presentation. Application information is available at www.photonics-sensors.eu. SMEs will be invited to present innovations in sensor technology, and large companies will discuss needs for sensing systems. Participants will be able to discuss business details in networking sessions during the meeting. The application deadline for participation is 9 March 2012.
Thomas Pearsall, Secretary General of EPIC, the European Photonics Industry Consortium, a partner in the organization of the Business Round Table added, “Major companies, like Vattenfall and Cassidian are strong in technology integration. They have the resources and the know-how for integrating new technology into reliable and performant systems coupled with a good view of market opportunities. SMEs are strong in technology innovation. They are both agile and inventive and can work on developments that larger industries could not afford to invest in.
