Fraunhofer - Press Release

iSTAR is a Fraunhofer collaborative project, that is targeted towards the development of "Interactive, see-trough augmented-reality displays". The project commenced in April 2008, lasting for three years, and is funded by the Fraunhofer Society under the WISA funding scheme (Grant No. WISA 817805). Four Fraunhofer Institutes contribute within their special fields:

• Fraunhofer IPMS Dresden: bi-directional OLED microdisplay
• Fraunhofer IOF Jena: see-through HMD optics
• Fraunhofer IITB Karlsruhe: eye-tracking and security applications
• Fraunhofer IGD Darmstadt: industry and consumer applications
